Antibacterial Hand Soap – Should you be using it?

Instant Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer is one thing, but do we need antibacterial soap? There are lots of reasons to stop using Triclosan, the active ingredient in most antibacterial soaps, one of the most important may be to protect the environment; A recent article at Smithsonian.com lists the following:

  1. Antibacterial soaps are no more effective than conventional soap and water. 
  2. Antibacterial soaps have the potential to create antibiotic-resistant bacteria. 
  3. The soaps could act as endocrine disruptors and might lead to other health problems, too. 
  4. 5. Antibacterial soaps are bad for the environment.
